The Ukrainian gave up only three games to her opponent
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina in the 1/8 final match Wimbledon 2024 beat the Chinese woman Xin Yu Wang. It should be noted that Elina spent the entire game wearing a black mourning ribbon in connection with today’s massive Russian attack on Ukraine.
The match lasted only 56 minutes. In the first set, Svitolina did not experience the slightest problems, and thanks to two breaks, she celebrated a victory with a score of 6:2.
The second set followed a similar scenario – Elina’s game superiority did not raise any questions. She again played her serve competently (during the entire game she did not allow the Chinese player to make a single break), and ultimately took the set with a score of 6:1.
Svitolina has reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon for the third time in her career, where she will play fourth seed Elena Rybakina, who today beat the “neutral” Anna Kalinskaya by withdrawal.
