Athletistic/Tennis. Former world number three, Russian tennis player Nadezhda Petrova, commented on the refusal of world number six, Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev, to participate in the Paris Olympics.

“Yes, I know that Rublev refused to participate. Perhaps he wants to focus on the rest of the season to finish the year in a certain place in the ranking and achieve his personal goals. In addition, he probably understands that ground cover is not his strong point. He gave others the opportunity to prove themselves at a tournament of this magnitude,” Petrova was quoted as saying by Metaratings.

Recall that besides Rublev, Karen Khachanov, Daria Kasatkina, Lyudmila Samsonova, Anna Kalinskaya and Anastasia Potapova also refused to participate in the Olympic Games.

  • Selivanenko: “Kalinskaya is on the rise this season, she plays intelligent and tactically structured tennis”
