Russian world number five Daniel Medvedev said he was satisfied with his own performance in the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon tournament against the Italian Jannik the fisherman .
Medvedev defeated Sinner with a score of 6:7 (7:9), 6:4, 7:6 (7:4), 2:6, 6:3. The meeting lasted exactly four hours.
“I knew that if I had to beat Yannick, it would be a difficult match. At some point he didn’t feel very good, but I understood that he would be released. And that’s what happened. I’m glad that I showed good games and won. At some point I felt that he wasn’t moving very well. And I understood that I should have played differently, that he was moving more and suffering more. Then he ran and started playing with all his strength. I’m glad that I managed to get out of a difficult situation in the third set, when Yannick had two set points,” Medvedev said on the court after the match.
The Russian will face the winner of the match between Carlos Alcaraz (Spain, 3) and Tommy Paul (USA, 12) in his Wimbledon final debut.
