Former American world number one John McEnroe compared the Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic with the character from the Star Wars films Darth Vader.
After his fourth-round match against Denmark’s Holger Rune at Wimbledon, Djokovic walked out of the interview due to questions about fans booing during the match.
– Don’t you think that in the last 10-15 years you can count at least 100 matches in which Djokovic did not receive the respect he was due because of his quality? He looks like Darth Vader compared to two other great tennis players: Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. I would call him the greatest in history,” McEnroe told the BBC.
On Wednesday, Djokovic reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon thanks to the withdrawal of Australian Alex de Minaur. The Serb will compete for access to the final with the winner of the duo Lorenzo Musetti (Italy) – Taylor Fritz (USA).
