Ukrainian snatches comeback win over Slovakia’s Anna Karolina Schmiedlova
Ukrainian tennis player Katarina Zavatskaya made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament WTA 125 in Swedish Bastade.
The Ukrainian faced fourth seed Anna Karolina Schmiedlova of Slovakia. The three-set match lasted two and a half hours.
The first set was a tense struggle, and Schmiedlova eventually managed to win it. Then the Ukrainian took over the initiative. Katarina made two breaks in the second set. Then Zavatska confidently finished off her opponent in the decisive set, winning the match on return.
Let us recall that in the first round Katarina beat another Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva. In the quarterfinals Zavatska will meet Louise Chirico from the USA.
