Ludmila Kichenok and Mate Pavic withdraw from Wimbledon 2024 mixed doubles

The duo will not be able to defend their title at last year’s British major

Ukrainian Ludmila Kichenok and Croatian tennis player Mate Pavic withdrew from the mixed category Wimbledon 2024.

Ludmila and Mate were supposed to meet the duo Maximo Gonzalez (Argentina)/Ulrikke Eikeri (Norway) in the second round of the mixed doubles. The reason for the refusal has not been officially announced. It should be noted that Ludmila also plays in the women’s doubles at Wimbledon together with Jelena Ostapenko from Latvia, and their quarterfinal match overlapped with the mixed doubles match.

Let us recall that in the first round the pair Kichenok/Pavic beat the British duo Charles Broome/Emily Appleton. The Ukrainian and the Croatian closed the match in two sets, winning the winning point in the tie-break.

Ludmila Kichenok and Mate Pavic failed to defend their Wimbledon mixed doubles title. There are no more Ukrainian tennis players left in the mixed doubles of the British major – Dayana Yastremska and Nadiya Kichenok finished their performances in the first round.
