Athletistic / Tennis. Russian Andrei Chesnokov, a 1995 Davis Cup finalist, believes his compatriot Daniil Medvedev and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz have equal chances of reaching the 2024 Wimbledon semi-finals.
“Medvedev had a very difficult match with Sinner, and Alcaraz had an easier path to the semi-finals. But I think Danya managed to recover, since he had two days to do so. I don’t know who will win, but Alcaraz does. He plays very hard at Wimbledon and hits a lot of difficult balls. Also, Carlos knows how to play against Medvedev. On the other hand, Danya now moves very well, hangs on to every ball.
“If Medvedev serves the same way as in the match against Sinner, then he will have a chance to win. It seems to me that the match will be difficult for both tennis players, and they have equal chances to reach the Wimbledon final,” Chesnokov was quoted as saying by TASS.
The match between Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of Wimbledon 20924 will take place today, July 12, and will start at 15:30 Moscow time. In the second semifinal, Serbian Novak Djokovic will face Italian Lorenzo Musetti.
