The federation takes part in it, they take promising, young and talented children who immediately enter the academies, where coaches, fitness specialists and psychologists work with them. Since childhood, they have all the necessary contracts. We don’t have that. Apparently a different mentality,” Pavlyuchenkova said in an interview with RBC Sport.
The president of the FTR responded to the comments of the athlete Shamil Tarpishchev . The federation believes that the budget available to the organization is distributed rationally, but that it is not large enough to meet all incoming demands.
– We have a children’s tennis development program until 2030, we adhere to it. We have been first in Europe in youth tennis for 15 years in a row, no one denies that. We have a lot of questions about the development of our sport across the country, because the regions don’t have the funds, but that’s another question.
There are a lot of problems, but that’s natural. Any federation must be good in its actions, taking into account the conditions in which it finds itself and the path of development it chooses. I believe that among the funds available to us, our federation chooses the best development option. I listen to everyone’s opinions, I try to do better, but we cannot compare our budget for tennis with Western federations. Other countries have tens of times more funds, and this must also be taken into account. But even despite this, we are now the first in world tennis.
