Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev spoke about his upcoming performance at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris (France).

According to Medvedev, it is unlikely that he will win a personal medal.

“It will be a new experience. I don’t like changing surfaces, even going to hard courts is not easy for me, it takes time to adapt. But here I will play at the Olympics straight away, on clay I don’t know how it will go.

“It won’t be easy, we don’t have enough time to prepare, because I had a good tournament here. I don’t know how I’m going to handle it, whether I’ll be at peace with myself or angry. Listen, it’s a tournament. I have my own goals in mind, one of the main goals is the duet and mixed doubles. To tell you the truth, I don’t think I’m the favorite to win the singles or even a medal. But I’m going to try, I’m going, I’m going to have fun and I’m going to do my best on clay,” Medvedev said at a press conference after losing the Wimbledon 2024 semi-finals.

Previously, Medvedev was eliminated from Wimbledon 2024, losing in the semi-finals to Carlos Alcaraz.

At the Paris Olympics, Russian athletes will compete in a neutral position.
