Athletistic/Tennis. Italian tennis player Jasmine Paolini, ranked seventh in the world, suffered her second consecutive defeat in the final of a Grand Slam tournament.

At Wimbledon 2024, she lost in three sets to Czech Barbora Krejcikova, who won her second career Grand Slam trophy.

This is Paolini’s second consecutive final: in June 2024, she also lost to Polish tennis player Ige Swiatek in the Roland Garros final. Paolini became the first tennis player since Serena Williams in 2016 to reach the Roland Garros and Wimbledon finals in the same season.

Despite losing in the 2024 Wimbledon final, Paolini, 28, will update his personal best and move up to fifth in the world rankings on Monday, July 15.
