Italian tennis player Jasmine Paolini said she had achieved her dream, despite losing to Czech Barbora Krejcikova in the Wimbledon final.
The match took place on Saturday in London and ended with a score of 6:2, 2:6, 6:4 in favor of Krejcikova.
“Playing in this stadium and seeing it packed is a dream come true. I would like to congratulate Barbora, she played amazing and showed beautiful tennis. Congratulations to you and your team.
“You melted everyone’s hearts with your wonderful smile.” I think they’ll be happy to hear you’re coming back…
– Hope. I’m a little sad now, but I try to smile. I have to remember that today is still a good day because I was in the Wimbledon final. As a child, I always watched the Wimbledon final on TV and supported Federer.
— You became the first Italian woman to reach the final at Wimbledon. Are you proud of your achievements?
“The last two months have been crazy for me. I want to thank my team and my family. They always support me and believe in me, without them I wouldn’t be here. Thank you so much. The crowd has been incredible these last two weeks and I’ve had so much support. It’s just incredible to feel their love. “I had a lot of fun,” Paolini told The Tennis Letter.
Paolini, 28, lost her second Grand Slam final of the season. In June, she lost to world No. 1 Iga Šwiętek in a deciding match at Roland Garros.
