Athletistic will broadcast a live text online: Tennis. Wimbledon. The final. Alcaraz – Djokovic. Live
Djokovic came into Wimbledon this year with an 18-6 record this season and no titles. Alcaraz, on the other hand, was 26-6 in 2024 with titles at Roland Garros and Indian Wells.
Djokovic arrived at Wimbledon with questions about his health, as the Serb injured his knee at the French Open. Djokovic began the season with a straight-sets victory over Vit Kopriva in the first round. In the next two rounds against Jacob Fearnley and Alexei Poprin, Djokovic dropped a set each but was able to close out the match in four games. Novak had his best match, defeating 15th seed Holger Rune 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. Alex de Minaur then withdrew from the quarterfinals and Djokovic met Lorenzo Musetti in the semifinals. Djokovic defeated the Italian in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 7-6(2), 6-4.
Alcaraz started the tournament with three-set wins over Mark Layal and Aleksandar Vukic. Then, with 29th seed Francis Tiafoe in the third round, Alcaraz played 5 sets and was close to defeat, but the Spaniard finally managed to snatch a ticket to the fourth round. Then, Carlos had to play another tough match against Hugo Humbert, which Alcaraz eventually won in four sets.
In the quarterfinals against Tommy Paul and the semifinals against Daniil Medvedev, Alcaraz lost the first set each time, but eventually recovered and won in four games.
Djokovic leads the head-to-head with Alcaraz 3-2. The Serb won the last match of the ATP Finals semi-finals last year.
