Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva reached the final of the WTA 250 tournament in the Romanian city of Iasi.
In the semifinals, Andreeva, seeded number one, defeated Serb Olga Danilovic – 3:6, 6:3, 7:6 (7:1). The meeting lasted 2 hours 39 minutes. During the match, Andreeva won her opponent’s double match point on her serve.
The 17-year-old Russian has reached the final of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tournament for the first time. In the deciding match, Andreeva will be able to play with her compatriot Elina Avanesyan if she beats Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet in the semifinals.
The final of the tournament in Romania will take place on Friday. After the competition, Andreeva will travel to the Paris Olympics, where she will play in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
