Olympic Games Chilean doubles begin this Saturday: Paris 2024 delivers the schedule for the first day of tennis

Nicolás Jarry and Alejandro Tabilo will face the Italian duo of Darderi and Musetti.

One of the most anticipated sports of these Olympic Games is starting to define its program. With the cross country draw already confirmed, all that remained was to know which players would start this Saturday, during the first day of competitions on the Roland Garros courts.

The information was made public on Thursday afternoon and confirmed that the Chilean delegation will be present on the opening day of tennis. It is the doubles team of Nicolás Jarry and Alejandro Tabilo, who will face the Italian pair of Luciano Darderi and Lorenzo Musetti in the fourth round of court eight (around 2:00 p.m. in Chile).

The fact that no Chilean is scheduled to play in singles on Saturday means that Jarry, Tabilo and Barrios will make their debuts in this category on Sunday. The times of these duels will not be known until the morning of July 27.

Full day of tennis

Beyond the debut of the national duo, several favorites will be in action on Saturday. For example, the Philippe Chatrier court, the most important on the site, will begin with the duel between the world number one, Iga Swiatek, and the Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu.

After this duel, it will be the turn of Novak Djokovic’s debut, who, for his fifth Olympic Games, will face the Australian Matthew Ebden. As if that were not enough, the programming on this court continues with the Spanish duo of Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal against the Argentinians González and Molteni. The closing of the Philippe Chatrier will be hosted by Naomi Osaka and Angélique Kerber.

The recent Roland Garros and Wimbledon champion will not only be playing doubles this Saturday, since before going to play with Rafael Nadal, he must go to the Suzanne-Lenglen to play his singles match against the Lebanese Hady Habib.
