The first round matches of the tennis tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which are scheduled to be held on outdoor courts, will start no earlier than 16:00 Moscow time due to weather conditions, the press service of the International Olympic Committee said (IOC reports).
The matches were originally scheduled to start at 13:00 Moscow time, but due to rain they were postponed to 14:30, and then to 16:00.
On two courts equipped with a roof, the matches started as scheduled. The world’s fifth-ranked player, Russian Daniil Medvedev, will play on one of them later on Saturday.
The pairs matches of Pavel Kotov, Diana Schneider and Ekaterina Alexandrova and Elena Vesnina are scheduled to take place on July 27 on open courts.
