Svitolina reached 1/8 at the Olympics, knocking out the world’s sixth racket

The famous Ukrainian tennis player continues to compete for honors at the 2024 Games in the capital of France.

Elina Svitolina made it to the 1/8 finals of the 2024 Olympic tennis tournament in Paris, which will be held on the courts of Roland Garros.

In the second round, the Ukrainian tennis player defeated the sixth racket of the world, Jessica Pegula from the USA. In total, the match lasted three sets, the opponents spent 99 minutes on the court.

Let’s add that this is the sixth meeting between the rivals, Svitolina won only the second match.

In the 1/8 finals of the Olympics, Elina will also face a difficult confrontation. The Ukrainian will play against ninth seeded Barbora Krejcikova from the Czech Republic, who recently won Wimbledon.

In the second round, Krejcikova easily defeated the Chinese Wang Xinyu 6:3, 6:2.
