Nadal withdrew from the Montreal Masters

The 22-time Grand Slam winner Spaniard Rafael Nadal Withdrawn from the Montreal Masters due to health issues.

– We decided not to go to Montreal and to continue training without constraint. I sincerely thank Tournament Director Eugene and his entire team for the understanding and support they have always given me, today was no exception.

Since the start of my vacation and the return to training that followed in those weeks, everything has gone well. Four days ago I started training as usual, and yesterday after training I had a slight discomfort, which continued today.

I can’t wait to play again in Montreal, a tournament that I love and that I have won five times in front of an audience that has always received me with a lot of love. I have no choice but to be careful at this stage and think about my health,” Nadal wrote on his Twitter page.

In early July, the 36-year-old Spaniard ended the fight at Wimbledon earlier than expected due to an abdominal muscle injury.

The Montreal tournament will take place from August 7 to 14.
