“The Olympic tennis tournament is difficult to compare with the ATP and WTA tournaments because of the differences in organization. At every Olympic Games I have participated in, the same problems arise: the best players are constantly unhappy with who sets the schedule and makes the decisions.
“It does not depend on the players, since the composition of the main judges and organizers of the calendar is determined by the Olympic Committee and the ITF, and not by the same people with whom we work at the Grand Slam tournaments or the ATP and WTA. Therefore, all the Olympic Games face similar calendar problems. You need to be mentally prepared for this,” Vesnina said in an interview with Sport24.
