Elina spent the evening training with Elena Ostapenko from Latvia. Bettles helped the Ukrainian as a coach.
Recall that Svitolina worked with Bettles for five years, and parted ways with her mentor and sparring partner in 2021. Under Andrew’s guidance, the Ukrainian won 11 titles and reached her highest score in the WTA rankings, rising to third place among the best tennis players in the world in 2017.
Earlier, Elina stopped working with coach Ramon Slater. The Ukrainian said that she is looking for a new coach.
Svitolina is ranked 34th in the WTA rankings. The Ukrainian will play Shelby Rogers from the United States in the first round of the tournament in Toronto on August 6.
