Lost at home: Djokovic crashed in the ATP 250 final in Belgrade

The Serbian were defeated by the Russians 2-6, 7 (7)-6 (4) and 0-6 and won again after the elimination in Monte Carlo.

Novak Djokovic fell in the final Belgrade ATP 250after beating 2-6, 7 (7)-6 (4) and 0-6 against the Russian Andrew Rublev, which is in eighth place in the ranking. In this way, the number 1 in the world still hasn’t won his first title of a season he wasn’t very active (he only played eight games, of which he won five and lost three) because of his decision not to vaccinate against the coronavirus (which caused a scandal at the Australian Open).

In previous rounds, the Serb eliminated his countrymen Lazlo Djere (50) at Myomir Kecmanovic (38) to face and beat the Russian in the semifinals Karen Khachanov (26). On the other hand, rublev reached the final after beating the Czech Jiří Lehečka (93), in Japanese Taro Daniel (104) and Italian Fabio Fogni (62).

From now on, Djokovic will try to improve with the goal of reaching the next Grand Slamwhich is Roland Garros, where he can fight even if he has not been inoculated. The tournament will be held in France, between May 22 and June 5.
