Chesnokov recounted how he spent time waiting for the rain to stop at tennis tournaments

Andrei Chesnokov, Honored Master of Sports of Russia in tennis, told how he spent his time waiting for the rain to stop during tournaments.

– There is a good story. I played in Monte Carlo. There was just an endless cyclone – it rained for three days. The funny thing is that I couldn’t even train. I worked physically, but you have to swing the racket. And there are not even accessible indoor courts, because we are on the Côte d’Azur: all the club members play on these few indoor courts.

“I didn’t play for three days. I went out to play against the Spaniard and lost by one wicket – 0:6, 3:6. I felt like I didn’t know how to play at all. This situation is everywhere,” Chesnokov said in an interview with the Championship.

Chesnokov is 58 years old. He retired from professional tournaments in 2000. During his playing career, Chesnokov was ranked ninth in the world and won seven singles titles.
