Today, August 26, her 118th week on the front line began, which allowed the Polish tennis player to overtake the seven-time Grand Slam winner, Belgian Justine Henin (117 weeks).

Recall that the record for the longest stay in first place belongs to the legendary Steffi Graf, who held this position for 377 weeks.

In her last match at the Cincinnati tournament, Szwiatek lost in the semifinals to the world’s second-ranked tennis player, Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka, with a score of 3:6, 3:6. Swiatek has already won the US Open – in 2022, she defeated Tunisian Ons Jabeur in the final with a score of 6:2, 7:6 (7:5).
