Angelina beat the Frenchwoman in three sets
Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina made it to the second round US Open 2024.
At the start of the main draw of the competition, Kalinina won a victory over Océan Dodin from France. The fight lasted an hour and 42 minutes.
In the first set, Angelina left her opponent no chance – 6:1. In the second set, the Ukrainian gave her opponent two games on her serve and lost 3:6.
In the decisive third set, Kalinina made four aces (nine in the match in total) and two breaks, achieving a confident 6:1 victory.
In the second round of the 2024 US Open, Kalinina will play Elina Svitolina, who today beat Argentine Maria Lourdes Carle – 3:6, 6:3, 6:4.
Dayana Yastremska failed to get past the first round of the US Open. Marta Kostyuk, Lesia Tsurenko, Kateryna Baindl and Yulia Starodubtseva will also play in the first round.
