Athletistic / Tennis. Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios, the finalist at Wimbledon in 2022, spoke about the situation regarding the doping story of world number one Jannik Sinner. Earlier it became known that Sinner had passed a positive doping test in 2024. However, the Italian was not disqualified, considering that the banned substance entered the body with the ointment from the cuts of his physiotherapist.

Kyrgios says the mixed reaction from tennis players to the story is understandable.

“The players came to social media with some unease. Two days ago I was tested in a hotel. We are constantly tested, we have played this sport all our lives. I just want all the players to be on an equal footing.

“That’s why I was against coaches in the players’ box. Not everybody has a coach. Not every player can afford one. If the playing field is not level for everybody, you lose a little bit of the integrity of the sport,” Kyrgios said, as quoted by ESPN.
