Elina allowed Angelina to win only three games
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina beat another Ukrainian Angelina Kalinina in the second round of the 2024 US Open singles.
The duel between the two Ukrainians was entirely dictated by Elina. In the first set, Angelina managed to take only one game, in the second set – two. During the match, Svitolina served eight aces, making five double faults. Kalinina had one ace and six double faults.
Let us recall that in the first round Elina won against the representative of Argentina Maria Lourdes Carle. In the next match Svitolina will meet with the third seeded Coco Gauff from the USA.
In the women’s singles, in addition to Elina, Marta Kostyuk continues to perform. In the first round, Kateryna Baindl, Lesya Tsurenko, Dayana Yastremska and Yulia Starodubtseva, the only Ukrainian who managed to overcome the three-round qualification sieve, finished their performances at the major.
