Tennis. The US Open. Third circle. Rublev – Legechka. Live broadcast

On Friday, August 30, the third round (1/16 finals) of the US Open competition begins. In one of the matches, our Andrei Rublev will fight with the Czech Jiri Legechka. A difficult match awaits the Russian – the head-to-head will be a 2:2 draw. As for the odds for this match, according to bookmakers, Rublev is the favorite of the confrontation. You can bet on Andrey’s victory with odds of 1.31, while Legechka’s success is estimated at 3.51 points.

At the previous stage, both tennis players made incredible comebacks, winning 0:2 in the matches. But if Andrey did not perform such a miracle for the first time, then Jiri made a voluntary debut in five sets.

The Russian in the 1/32 finals fought against the Frenchman Rinderknesch and the incredible heat that reigned that day in New York. The first two sets went to Arthur (6:4, 7:5), but as soon as the Frenchman’s battery died, Rublev immediately took the initiative, winning three sets in a devastating way – 6:1, 6:2, 6:2.

Legechka found himself in an even more difficult position. The Czech lost two first sets to the American Kruger (6:7, 0:6) and lost in the third with a score of 0:3. But what happened to Mitchell next, he himself probably does not know. One thing is clear, the American lost his serve twice in the third game and once each in the fourth and fifth. And Legechka never lost his serve. As a result, Jiri won three decisive sets with a score of 6:4, 6:4, 7:5.

At the current US Open, 26-year-old Andrey Rublev started as the 6th racket in the world, and 22-year-old Jiri Legechka – 38th. The Russian and the Czech have played four fights and are evenly matched. Rublev won on clay in Belgrade 2022 (4:6, 7:6, 6:2) and at the Indian Wells Masters 2023 – 6:4, 6:2. Legechka took his first revenge in Doha 2023 (4:6, 6:4, 6:3), and the second at the same Masters in Indian Wells, but this season – 6:4, 6:4.

The Czech tennis player has good endurance and can attack strongly with both forehand and backhand. Jiri also has a good serve. In other words, technically he is not weaker than Andrey. That is why today’s match may turn out to be even more difficult for Rublev than the previous one.
