Andrei Olkhovsky, a two-time Grand Slam mixed doubles winner, believes that Mirra Andreeva growing as a tennis player, despite the losses.
In the second round of the US Open, the 17-year-old Russian lost to American Ashlyn Kruger with a score of 1:6, 4:6.
“I think the reason for Mirra’s defeat is not the pressure and unnecessary attention paid to him. Kruger played a little better and deservedly won. The game corresponded to the result. There is nothing extraordinary about it. Mirra is growing, better results are ahead. There is no way to reach the top without difficulties at this level, without defeats,” Olkhovsky told RB Sport.
