Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic said his performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics influenced his performance at the US Open.
Djokovic, last year’s US Open winner, lost to Australian Alexei Popyrin in the third round of the 2024 US Open – 4:6, 4:6, 6:2, 4:6.
“It obviously has an effect. I spent a lot of energy trying to win gold (at the Olympics – approximately) and I arrived in New York not feeling fresh. I did my best, I had no physical problems, I just felt exhausted and it showed from the first match, I just didn’t feel on the court.
