The match ended with Popyrin’s victory with a score of 6:4, 6:4, 2:6, 6:4. Djokovic was the reigning winner of the tournament.
“Legend,” Michkov wrote on the social network, accompanying the message with a picture of Djokovic.
Michkov was selected seventh overall by Philadelphia in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. In July, the club signed the 19-year-old Russian to a three-year, entry-level contract.
