Russian tennis player Diane Schneider thanked fans for their support after reaching the fourth round of the US Open.
In the third round, Schneider, seeded 18th, beat Italian Sara Errani 6:2, 6:2.
— The game was great. To be in the fourth round for the first time here in America is special.
I am very proud of myself. It didn’t all happen in an instant, in a month. Some periods were very difficult, but I am happy that I was able to overcome them and find my way. Thank you to those who support me no matter what.
I feel like the United States is a second home to me. “I’m very happy about this support, it gives me a lot of strength,” Schneider said after the match.
To reach the quarter-finals of the US Open, Schneider will face American Jessica Pegula (6th seed).
