In the second set there was no particular struggle: Sachko responded to Etzbach’s one break with three and triumphed with a crushing score.
Ursu, who recently became Ukraine’s number one tennis player, lost to American Omni Kumar in a fierce battle. The opponents exchanged confident victories in sets. Kumar began the decisive third set with a break point – and eventually brought the matter to a victorious end.
