Kyrgios asked Medvedev about his feelings about the tournament.
Medvedev beats Borzes to reach US Open quarterfinals
“I love playing here. I remember the crazy performance in 2019, especially the final with Rafa. To be honest, wherever I play with him, the stands are cheering for him.
Am I one of the most consistent players? To be honest, I try to work hard. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don’t. There are days when it’s harder for me to go on court. But I believe that if my opponent trains more than me, I will have less chance of winning. And I always want to win. That’s why I try to train as much as possible.
“I’ve had a lot of success here before. The last time I lost was in the fourth round (in 2022). Oh yeah, that was against you, right? Good memories,” Medvedev told Kyrgios.
