The Ukrainian tennis player and her partner Alena Ostapenko from Latvia defeated the tandem Chan Hao-Chin/Veronika Kudermetova in the semi-finals in straight sets. The meeting lasted only 66 minutes.
Kichenok made it to the final of the US Open for the first time in his career. For Lyudmila, this will be the second even final in Grand Slam tournaments. In 2024, the Ukrainian, together with Ostapenko, lost the match for the Australian Open title. In addition, in 2023, Kichenok became the Wimbledon mixed doubles champion.
In the final on the courts of New York, the Ukrainian-Latvian duo will play against the pair Kristina Mladenovic/Zhang Shuai.
