Athletistic/Tennis. In the quarterfinals of the US Open, the world’s fifth-ranked Russian Daniil Medvedev met the leader of the ATP rankings, Italian Jannik Sinner. The match ended with Sinner’s victory in four sets with a score of 6:2, 1:6, 6:1, 6:4. After the match, Sinner explained how he manages to stay focused and calm amid the doping scandal.

“I have my team and my loved ones who always support me and believe in me. This is very important. Both among the coaches and off the field, I am surrounded by those who understand me. This gives me strength. Of course, at the beginning it was difficult, but every day the situation improved. Now I will prepare for the semi-finals,” Sinner said at a press conference.

On August 20, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) reported that Sinner had two positive doping tests in March. However, he avoided disqualification after an investigation revealed that the samples were contaminated by a spray used by the physiotherapist to treat his own cut. The particles accidentally reached Sinner during a massage performed without gloves.
