Sinner won in four sets – 6:2, 1:6, 6:1, 6:4, which allowed him to reach the semi-finals.
With this victory, Sinner (23 years and 19 days) becomes the second youngest tennis player since 1990 to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open, Indian Wells, Miami and US Open in the same calendar year. Before him, Rafael Nadal achieved this in 2008 (22 years and 93 days).
In the semi-finals of the 2024 US Open, Sinner will meet British Jack Draper, who defeated Australian Alex de Minaur (20th world racket) with a score of 6:3, 7:5, 6:2.
