Lyudmila Kichenok to Set New Ukrainian Record in WTA Doubles Ranking

In the new edition of the world’s best tennis players in pairs, the Ukrainian will occupy fifth place

Ukrainian tennis player Ludmila Kichenok will set a new national record in WTA doubles ranking.

In the new rating, which will be published on September 9, the Ukrainian will take fifth place. This is a new best result among all Ukrainian women in doubles. The previous achievement also belonged to Lyudmila (seventh place).

Kichenok achieved this result thanks to reaching the final of the US Open 2024 doubles tournament, where the Ukrainian is playing together with Elena Ostapenko from Latvia. Lyudmila will have at least 5465 points (or 6165 points if she wins the tournament).

In the final of the US Open 2024, the Ukrainian and Latvian will play against Kristina Mladenovic and Shuai Zhang (France / China). The decisive match of the women’s doubles tournament will take place on September 6.

Let us recall that this year Kichenok and Ostapenko won the doubles tournaments in Brisbane and Eastbourne, and also reached the final of the Australian Open. Lyudmila and Elena are leading the WTA doubles championship race this season.
