Athletistic/Tennis. The world’s fifth-ranked tennis player, Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev, shared his thoughts on his defeat in the quarterfinals of the US Open 2024 to the leader of the ATP world rankings, Italian Jannik Sinner. The match ended with Sinner’s victory in four sets: 6:2, 1:6, 6:1, 6:4.

“It was tough. He is one of the best in the world, and his ranking confirms that. It is not easy to play against him. He has a great sense of the game, always chooses the right shots and makes them at the right time. I love competing against players of this level because in Grand Slams, every point counts. When you have a break point, you think about how to counter his game.”

Medvedev also added that he was happy to have the opportunity to meet Sinner at major tournaments and was sure the audience enjoyed their matches.

In the semi-finals, Sinner will meet Britain’s Jack Draper, ranked 25th in the world.
