Tennis players Ostapenko and Kichenok won the US Open in doubles

Latvian Elena Ostapenko and Ukrainian Lyudmila Kichenok won the US Open tennis championship in doubles.

Ostapenko and Kichenok, seeded seventh, defeated Kristina Mladenovic of France and Zhang Shuai of China in the final with a score of 6:4, 6:3. The meeting lasted 1 hour 28 minutes.

Ostapenko won the Grand Slam tournament in doubles for the first time in her career; in 2017, she won the singles title at Roland Garros. Kichenok won Wimbledon in mixed doubles in 2023.
