The semi-final of the US Open ended in New York, in which the 12th racket in the world, American Taylor Fritz, won in five sets against his compatriot, 20th in the ATP ranking Francis Tiafoe. The match ended with the score 4:6, 7:5, 4:6, 6:4, 6:1 and Fritz reached the final of the tournament.

The victory made Fritz the first American in 15 years to reach a Grand Slam singles final. Before him, only Andy Roddick, who reached the Wimbledon final in 2009, had achieved such success.

In the US Open final, Taylor Fritz will face world number one, Italian Jannik Sinner, who had already beaten Briton Jack Draper with a score of 7:5, 7:6 (7:3), 6:2.
