“If Medvedev had not met Sinner, he would have won the tournament because in optimal conditions he has no obvious competitors except for (Spaniard Carlos) Alcaraz and Sinner. And there is a relative competitor (German representative Alexander) Zverev, but Daniil plays with him. Fortunately, in certain conditions, these are also the growing guys Fritz and (American Tommy) Paul, who can create difficulties. After all, if Daniil loses to someone from the top 20, then for some reason we immediately think that this is one. “But in terms of the quality and components of the game, in terms of serving and receiving, Medvedev is now undoubtedly one of the three best in the world,” Tarpishchev told RIA Novosti.
