Australians Thompson and Purcell win 2024 US Open men’s doubles

Australian Tennis Players Jordan Thompson And Max Purcell became winners US Open 2024 Men’s Doubles.

In the final, Thompson and Purcell played the German duo Kevin Krawietz / Tim Puetz. The match lasted an hour and a half.

In the first set, Jordan and Max made one break and won 6:4. In the second set, the Australians were leading 5:4, but missed two match points. In the tie-break, Purcell and Thompson finally finished off the German tandem — 7:4.

Thompson and Purcell won their first Grand Slam title together. They reached the 2024 Wimbledon final in July, where they lost to Harry Heliovaara and Henry Patten.

This is Purcell’s second Grand Slam trophy of his career. In 2022, he triumphed at Wimbledon with Matthew Ebden.

Let us recall that Ukrainian Lyudmyla Kichenok and Elena Ostapenko from Latvia became the champions of the women’s doubles at the 2024 US Open. In the mixed doubles, Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori from Italy won.
