In a nearly 3-hour fight, the Ukrainian beat Amandine Ess
Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva made it to the finals of the tournament qualification WTA 250 in the city of Monastir (Tunisia).
In the first round of the selection, Starodubtseva won a strong-willed victory over Amandine Ess from France. The fight lasted two hours and 40 minutes.
In the first set, Yulia was leading 5:3, but gave up two games on her serve and lost 5:7. In the second set, the Ukrainian took revenge – 6:4.
In the decisive third set, Starodubtseva was losing 1:3, but returned to the game and achieved a strong-willed victory – 6:3.
In the qualification final, Starodubtseva will play against the “neutral” Alena Falya. The match will take place on Sunday, September 8.
Let us recall that Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko will perform in the main draw of the tournament in Monastir. At the start of the competition, she will have a match against a native of Ukraine, now playing for Germany, Eva Lis.
