Lyudmila became the first Ukrainian to win an American major and is the only one among her compatriots with two victories in Grand Slam tournaments.

Ukrainian tennis player Ludmila Kichenok earned a serious amount of money for winning US Open 2024 in doubles.

The total prize money for winning was $750,000. Thus, Ludmila and her partner Elena Ostapenko from Latvia will receive $375,000 each.

Let us recall that on Friday, September 6, in the final of the women’s doubles at the American major, Ludmila and Elena defeated the French-Chinese tandem Kristina Mladenovic / Zhang Shuai in two sets.

This was the first Grand Slam title for Kichenok and Ostapenko together. In 2024, they won doubles tournaments in Brisbane and Eastbourne, and also reached the final of the Australian Open, where they lost to Xie Shuwei and Elise Mertens.

Liudmyla became the first Ukrainian to win two Grand Slam titles. In 2023, she became the Wimbledon mixed doubles champion together with Croatian Mate Pavic.

Thanks to her successful performance at the 2024 US Open, Lyudmyla Kichenok will set a new national record in the WTA doubles ranking. In the new ranking, which will be published on September 9, the Ukrainian will take fifth place.
