Athletistic/ Tennis. Russian tennis player Daniil Savelyev has been temporarily suspended from competition. The athlete has been accused of violating anti-doping rules.
Meldonium was found in Savelyev’s doping test, the website of the independent body for combating negative phenomena in tennis (ITIA) reports.
A preliminary anti-doping rule violation notification was sent to Savelyev on August 20, 2024. An anti-doping test that showed a positive result for meldonium was conducted on the athlete on July 3 during the ITF tournament in South Africa.
Savelyev decided not to challenge the temporary suspension.
