Kudermetova lost to Spanish tennis player Camila Osorio with a score of 6:7 (5:7), 7:6 (7:2), 5:7. In the deciding set, the 27-year-old athlete led with a score of 5:0, but lost seven games in a row. With the score of 5:5, the cameramen filmed the moment when Kudermetova hit herself several times in the head with a racket after one of the rallies.
In the quarter-finals, Osorio will face Russian Kamilla Rakhimova.
Kudermetova is ranked 26th in the WTA rankings and the Russian has two singles titles to her name.
