Russian Daniel Medvedev still ranks fifth in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings, a new version of which is published on the organization’s website.
Another representative of Russia, Andrey Rublev, retained the sixth place. There were no changes in the top ten: Italian Jannik Sinner is in the lead, Alexander Zverev (Germany) is second and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz closes the top three.
On September 22, Medvedev, Zverev and Alcaraz, as part of Team Europe, won the Laver Cup, an exhibition team tournament. The ATP does not award ranking points for winning this tournament, but does count them in the statistics for team events won.
Russian Alibek Kachmazov, 22, who reached the semi-finals of an ATP tournament for the first time on Sunday, climbed 73 places in the rankings to 179th. On Monday, he will face Italian Lorenzo Musetti for a place in the final of the tournament in Chengdu, China.
