Australian Nick Kyrgios expressed hope that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will not be biased when considering the appeal of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in the case of Italian world number one Jannik Sinner.
On Saturday, WADA announced that it had appealed the International Tennis Integrity Agency’s (ITIA) decision regarding Sinner’s doping case to the CAS. In August, the ITIA announced that Sinner had tested positive for two drugs in March. He avoided disqualification because he proved that the banned substance, clostebol, entered his body by accident. Kyrgios has repeatedly criticized the decision, seeing it as a manifestation of double standards.
– Ha-ha-ha. “I hope the people involved in this case don’t care that he is the number one racketeer in the world and has money,” Kyrgios commented on the social network about the call of the AMA.
The Australian also republished the news, adding the phrase: “Maybe not so innocent?”
Sinner is the winner of the Australian Open and the US Open. Since June, the 23-year-old tennis player has been at the top of the ATP rankings.
