Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova stated that she did not consider it necessary to change sports citizenship to participate in international tournaments.
– I’m not going to change my nationality. When you perform under one flag all your life, unfortunately, some things, like now, are beyond your control. And immediately changing citizenship, I think, is not particularly correct. Yes, we were not allowed to participate in any of the tournaments once. I hope it was a unique “action” – quote the words of Potapova “Championship”.
Potapova takes 48th place in the world rankings.
