The Ukrainian’s next opponent will be Magda Linett from Poland
Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko beat Katie Boulter from Great Britain in the first round of the tournament WTA 1000 V Wuhan (China).
The match lasted 1 hour and 52 minutes. In the first set, the Ukrainian acted flawlessly on the serve – she did not allow Boulter to win a single game on her serve. As a result, Tsurenko won with a score of 6:2.
In the second game, Boulter showed much more serious resistance. Almost every game was very stubborn, but with the score 5:5, Tsurenko was able to make a break, after which she converted a match point on her serve at the second attempt.
Let us recall that Lesya Tsurenko began her qualification journey at the tournament in Wuhan, beating Linda Frukhvirtova and Erika Andreeva in turn.
In the second round, Tsurenko will face Magda Linett from Poland. Marta Kostyuk will also play her first round match today; she will face off against Elina Avanesyan from Armenia. Dayana Yastremskaya, in turn, has already dropped out of the fight, losing in the first round to lucky loser Erika Andreeva.
