Russian tennis player Daniel Medvedev took a medical timeout after the end of the first set of the match against Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Masters Series tournament in Shanghai.
The rivals meet in the 1/8 finals. The Russian won the first set in a tiebreak – 7:6 (7:3). After that, Medvedev turned to a doctor for help and complained of pain in his right shoulder. After a massage session, he was able to return to the field. The match is now in the second set, in which Tsitsipas has won two games and surrendered none.
In the quarterfinals of the Shanghai tournament, the winner of this match will face world number one Jannik Sinner of Italy.
